JOINT FORCE COMMANDER RECEIVES COURTESY CALL FROM THE DIRECTOR MILITARY INTELLIGENCE, SINGAPORE ARMED FORCES

BOLKIAH GARRISON, THURSDAY, 04 AUGUST 2022 – Brigadier General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Alirupendi bin Haji Perudin, Joint Force Commander (JFC) received a courtesy call from Brigadier General Lee Yi-Jin, Director Military Intelligence, Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) this morning.

During the introductory call, JFC welcomed Brigadier General Lee Yi-Jin to Brunei Darussalam and reaffirmed the strong bilateral relationship between the RBAF and SAF. Both sides discussed their commitment to further strengthen the cooperation between Joint Force Headquarter (JFHQ) and Military Intelligence Organisation (MIO) and enhance opportunities to train and interact together in areas of mutual benefit and interest.

Also discussed the prospects of cyber training with regards to the establishment of Cyber Defence Unit which may provide the opportunity to learn good practices, and knowledge transfer on cyber security for both sides. As both countries are aware that cyber space has been expanding in a quite fast pace and opened up vast opportunities that users can grab for their benefits. At the same time, as it grows, it also attracts threats where users with ill intent may be exploiting the cyber space. Both JFC and Brigadier General Lee Yi-Jin agreed leaders must be able to keep up with the current trend but also not to forget about the glorious or fallen history where people could learn from.
