COURTESY CALL FROM DEFENCE ATTACHÉ OF JAPAN TO BRUNEI DARUSSALAM TO JOINT FORCE COMMANDER ROYAL BRUNEI ARMED FORCES

BOLKIAH GARRISON, Wednesday, 15 April 2026 – Colonel Pengiran Noor Rumaizi bin Pengiran Othman, Joint Force Commander, Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) received a courtesy call by Lieutenant Commander Hasegawa Takeshi, the Japanese Defence Attache held at the Ministry of Defence. Also present during the call was Deputy Joint Force Commander RBAF, Staff Officer Grade 1 J2, Joint Force RBAF and Lieutenant Commander Toshifumi Wada, who will be completing his term as the Security and Defence Affairs Officer at the Embassy of Japan in Brunei Darussalam on 24 April 2026.

BOLKIAH GARRISON, Friday, 3 April 2026 – Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Retired) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Minister of Defence II, attended a virtual engagement session with the Defence Advisers and Attachés of Brunei Darussalam serving at the country's High Commissions and Embassies, including Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) personnel currently serving overseas.

THREE JOINT FORCE ROYAL BRUNEI ARMED FORCES OFFICERS PROMOTED

BERAKAS GARRISON, Friday, 27 March 2026 – With the consent of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'zzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, 3 officers from the Joint Force, Royal Brunei Armed Forces (JF RBAF) were promoted amongst a total of 65 officers of the RBAF. One officer was promoted to Substantive Major and two officers promoted to the rank of Substantive Captain. The ceremony was held at the Officers' Mess, Berakas Garrison.

TOKYO, JAPAN, Tuesday, 24 March 2026 - The 23^rd ASEAN Defence Ministers' Meeting-Plus Experts' Working Group on Maritime Security (ADMM-Plus EWG on MS), Table Top Exercise (TTX) and Final Planning Conference (FPC) for the Maritime Security Joint Cooperative Activity (JCA) was successfully held from 24 to 27 March 2026 at Sheraton Miyako Hotel Tokyo, Japan.

JOINT FORCE ROYAL BRUNEI ARMED FORCES COORDINATE SEARCH OPERATION IN ULU TEMBURONG RIVER
ULU TEMBURONG, Wednesday, 25 March 2026 – The Joint Force Royal Brunei Armed Forces (JF RBAF) coordinated a Search Operation conducted from 19 to 25 March 2026 in the Ulu Temburong River area, in support of Malaysian authorities, to locate a Malaysian national reported missing near the Brunei Darussalam–Malaysia border on 17 March 2026.
