​BOLKIAH GARRISON, WEDNESDAY, 14 MAY 2020 – In adhering to the Brunei Islamic Religious Council (MUIB) guidelines of social distancing measures during the month of Ramadhan, The Royal Brunei Armed Forces Religious Department has come out with an initiative of offering a decentralized zakat fitrah collection system.

The Zakat fitrah collection for the Joint Force Headquarters personnel was conducted at the Joint Force Headquarters office in accordance to MUIB guidelines of social distancing, ensuring the queue line followed the minimum distance provided and no handshaking involved. 

Amongst those who partook in the decentralized Zakat Fitrah payment at the Joint Force Headquarters was the Joint Force Commander, Brigadier General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Mohd Sharif bin Dato Paduka Haji Ibrahim. 

The initiative by The Royal Brunei Armed Forces Religious Department to carry out the Zakat Fitrah collection amidst the challenges posed by the global pandemic is highly appreciated by those working within the Ministry of Defence and is hoped to help the government in flattening the pandemic curve.
