REPUBLIC OF SINGAPORE, FRIDAY, 26 AUGUST 2022 - The 21st SEACAT Exercise led by the United States Navy 7th Fleet had concluded successfully today. Eight (8) RBAF officers from Joint Force Headquarters (JFHQ), Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF), Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) and Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) were involved in the exercise which commenced from 16 August 2022 which hosted by the Republic of Singapore Navy. The RBAF had participated in various seminars, workshops and field training exercises that aimed to strengthen military cooperation with other Southeast Asia nations in enhancing maritime domain awareness.
As part of enhancing military coorperation, KDB DARUSSALAM had successfully conducted a series of maritime exercises in Brunei’s EEZ focusing on VBSS with the support of P-8 Poseidon aircraft. The maritime exercise was also supported with the effective use of Seavision for information sharing with other navies.
Another highlight in this year’s SEACAT is the first ever Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) Workshop which bring in UAS Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Operators together from various navies and other maritime security agencies to share and learn the best practices in maximizing the UAS capability in Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA).
