ROYAL BRUNEI NAVY ENHANCES REGIONAL MARITIME SECURITY THROUGH EX SEACAT 2025

MUARA CAMP , Friday, 19 September 2025 – The Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) actively participated in Exercise Southeast Asia Cooperation and Training 2025 (EX SEACAT 2025), conducted from 8 to 19 September 2025 at the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) facilities in Muara Camp and in the operational waters of the South China Sea. Exercise SEACAT is an annual multilateral maritime security exercise led by the United States Navy, first established in 2002. Its primary goal is to strengthen regional cooperation, enhance interoperability, and improve information-sharing among participating navies and coast guards in the Indo-Pacific region. The RBN was represented by the Naval Operation Centre and deployed its patrol vessels PV-80 KDB DARUSSALAM and PV-60 KDB AL-FARUQ for the exercise.

HANOI, SOCIALIST REPUBLIC OF VIET NAM, Wednesday, 17 September 2025 – Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), made his first official visit to the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam from 16 to 18 September 2025. Also accompanying the RBAF Commander was Pengiran Mohammad Saiful Bahri bin Pengiran Haji Mohammad Jofray, Chargés D’affaires, Embassy of Brunei Darussalam in the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam and Lieutenant Colonel Haji Fadzli bin Haji Abdullah, Staff Officer Grade 1 J2, Joint Force Headquarters.

INDO PACIFIC ENDEAVOUR 2025 STRENGTHEN THE COOPERATIONS BETWEEN RBAF AND ADF

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Friday, 19 September 2025 – The first phase of the Indo-Pacific Endeavour 2025 (IPE25), held from 12 to 18 September 2025, featured a series of Subject Matter Expert Exchanges (SMEEs) that further strengthened professional and people-to-people ties between the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) and the Australian Defence Force (ADF). The SMEEs covered various key areas, namely Religious Interaction, Human Performance and Workforce, International Law, and Cyber Knowledge Sharing. Reflecting the multifaceted scope of cooperation between the two-armed forces, the second phase of IPE25 is scheduled to commence in November 2025, further advancing the collaborative engagements established during this opening phase.

PARTICIPATION OF ROYAL BRUNEI ARMED FORCES OFFICERS IN THE 3rd UN COMPREHENSIVE PROTECTION OF CIVILIAN COURSE

​KUNSHAN, JIANGSU PROVINCE, PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA, 19 September 2025 – The 3rd UN Comprehensive Protection of Civilian Course was successfully organised by the Peacekeeping Affairs Center (PKAC), Ministry of National Defense of the People’s Republic of China. The course was conducted over two weeks, from 8 September to 19 September 2025, at the Training Base of the College of International Studies, National University of Defense Technology. Participation from Brunei Darussalam was represented by Major Amzar Muaz bin Haji Tamit from Royal Brunei Land Forces and Lieutenant Commander Mohd Samsul bin Awang Rosman, RBN from the Royal Brunei Navy.
