OFFICERS' MESS ROYAL BRUNEI NAVY, Tuesday, 21 April 2026 – The Joint Force, Royal Brunei Armed Forces (JF RBAF), in collaboration with the United States Navy (USN), has successfully concluded a two-day Initial Planning Conference (IPC) for the 32nd series of the Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training Exercise 2026 (CARAT 32/2026). The conference was held at the Officers’ Mess, Royal Brunei Navy.
The conference was co-chaired by Lieutenant Colonel Daud bin Etim, Staff Officer Grade 1, Joint Training, JF RBAF, and Commander Matthew Little, Royal Navy, United States Seventh Fleet, Exchange Officer, CARAT Director. It was attended by participants from RBAF units and USN representatives, both in person and via video teleconference.
Throughout the conference, participants engaged in working groups focusing on Subject Matter Expert Exchanges (SMEEs), as well as refining the exercise’s Scheme of Manoeuvre and Schedule of Events for the shore phase. At the end of the conference, both RBAF and USN participants expressed strong confidence that the commitment and collaborative efforts demonstrated would contribute to the smooth execution of the exercise.
The IPC for CARAT 32/2026 is conducted to coordinate planning, training objectives and synchronise execution between RBAF and USN. This will be followed by the Middle Planning Conference, scheduled on 5 May 2026 via video tele-conference, to further coordinate and refine the planned activities. The Final Planning Conference, to be held from 1 to 2 July, will confirm all activities and administrative arrangements. The Field Training Exercise is scheduled to take place from 14 to 20 September 2026, focusing on the conduct of joint training between both armed forces.
MES PEGAWAI TENTERA LAUT DIRAJA BRUNEI, Selasa, 21 April 2026 – Angkatan Bersama Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (AB ABDB) dan Tentera Laut Amerika Syarikat (TLAS) telah selesai mengadakan Initial Planning Conference (IPC) selama dua hari bagi eksesais Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training siri ke-32 (CARAT 32/2026). Persidangan ini berlangsung di Mes Pegawai, Tentera Laut Diraja Brunei.
IPC ini telah dipengerusikan bersama oleh Leftenan Kolonel Daud bin Etim, Pegawai Turus Latihan Bersama, AB ABDB, dan Commander Matthew Little, Royal Navy, United States Seventh Fleet, Exchange Officer, CARAT Director. Turut hadir dalam persidangan ini juga adalah peserta daripada unit-unit ABDB dan perwakilan dari TLAS, secara langsung dan melalui video tele-conference.
Sepanjang persidangan dijalankan, para peserta menubuhkan kumpulan kerja bagi membincangkan aktiviti yang melibatkan Subject Matter Expert Exchanges (SMEEs) bagi penambahbaikan pergerakan dan aturcara eksesais. Pada penghujung sesi, peserta dari dua negara tersebut menyatakan keyakinan serta harapan kuat mereka untuk terus komited dan berusaha untuk mendapatkan hasil yang baik dan kelancaran pada hari pelaksanaan akan datang.
IPC bagi CARAT 32/2026 dilaksanakan untuk menyelaras perancangan, objektif eksesais serta perlaksanaan antara ABDB dan TLAS. Seterusnya, Mesyuarat Perancangan Pertengahan akan diadakan pada 05 Mei 2026 melalui video tele-conferencebagi menyelaras dan memperincikan lagi aktiviti yang dirancang. Mesyuarat Perancangan Akhir, yang akan diadakan pada 01 hingga 02 Julai, akan menyelaraskan semua aktiviti serta urusan pentadbiran. Eksesais Medan dijadualkan berlangsung dari 14 hingga 20 September 2026, dengan tumpuan kepada pelaksanaan eksesais bersama antara kedua-dua angkatan tentera.
