BOLKIAH GARRISON, FRIDAY, 11 FEBRUARY 2022 – The Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), Major General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sahat made a farewell visit to the Joint Force Headquarters, Royal Brunei Armed Forces (JFHQ RBAF), Bolkiah Garrison today.

Upon arrival, the Commander of RBAF was received by Brigadier General Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Abdul Razak bin Haji Abd. Kadir, Joint Force Commander, Royal Brunei Armed Forces. Also in attendance were Deputy Joint Force Commander, Chief of Staff Joint Force, Head of Joint Doctrine and Warfare Centre, Senior Officers, Officers, JFHQ Sergeant Major and personnel of JFHQ.

The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Lt Shaikh Sharul Azhar bin Shaikh Haji Ahmad from the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Religious Directorate, Ministry of Defence followed by a speech delivered by the Joint Force Commander. In his remarks, he highlighted the Joint Force Headquarters’ numerous accomplishments both within the regional and international level, which would not have been possible without the Commander of RBAF’s continuous support and guidance.

The Commander of RBAF then delivered his farewell speech and shared memories of when he served under the Joint Force Headquarters and how proud he is to see how the Joint Force Headquarters has developed throughout the years. He also underlined the importance of consistent training, maintaining operational readiness and upholding RBAF’s image, and the need to stay focused on the organisation’s core purpose. The Commander also stipulated the importance of spiritual education and Islamic teachings in each member of the RBAF and reminded all personnel to serve and leave a meaningful legacy for the RBAF.

The ceremony continued with the presentation of mementoes to the Commander of RBAF from JFHQ Officers and personnel of JFHQ. The event concluded with a group photo session.
