CHON BURI PROVINCE, THAILAND, Friday, 02 September 2022 - The Royal Brunei Armed Forces participated in the PIRAP JABIRU Exercise (Ex PJ22) 22/2022 organized by the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and the Royal Thai Armed Forces (RTAF) was held at the Center Bangsaen Strategic Study, Chonburi Province, Thailand for 14 days starting from 21 August 2022 until 03 September 2022.
A total of 16 countries participating in the Ex PJ22 consisting of Australia, Bangladesh, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, the Republic of the Philippines, the Republic of Singapore, Timor Leste, Tonga, Thailand, and Vietnam, that comprised of 54 personnel which includes members of the military, police and public agencies from the countries participating in the Ex PJ22 this year. Representing the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) was Lieutenant Colonel Haji Mohammad Alimin Bin Haji Subohi, Assistant Chief of Operations of the Royal Brunei Land Force (ACOS G3 RBLF).
The main aim of Ex PJ22 is to facilitate regional cooperation and improve the understanding of the country’s participants involved in the current strategic and operational planning considerations in complex and multidimensional peace operations. The theme for Ex PJ22 this time is: ‘Current peace operations must deal with dynamic human and environmental changes ranging from the Protection of Civilians to dealing with pandemics in vulnerable populations. How can peacekeepers adapt to these changes in order to achieve a successful mandate?’. This time the participants were exposed to various scenarios that involved the participants in developing a deeper understanding of the UN’s mission in dealing with various contemporary dimensions and cooperation to achieve optimal results. Among the scenario presentations that have been implemented are as follows: Update UN Resolution and Mission Mandate, Women, Peace and Security, Conflict-Related Sexual Violence. Mercenaries and Proxies, Child Protection, Key Challenges Mali and Current Issues – Future Challenges in Peace Operations Environment.
In addition, this Ex PJ22 is a good opportunity for RBAF and participating countries to be able to adapt and coordinate operations in applying the United Nations Military Planning Process Manual (UN MPP) involving the Armed Forces and UN representatives for the newly introduced.




WILAYAH CHON BURI, THAILAND, Jumaat, 02 September 2022 - Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei telah mengikuti Ekesais PIRAP JABIRU kali ke 22/2022 (Eks PJ22) yang dianjurkan oleh Australian Defence Force (ADF) dan Royal Thai Armed Forces (RTAF) telah diadakan di Pusat Kajian Strategik Bangsaen, Wilayah Chonburi, Thailand selama 14 hari bermula dari 21 Ogos 2022 hingga 03 September 2022.
Sebanyak 16 buah negara yang menyertai Eks PJ22 yang terdiri daripada Australia, Bangladesh, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mongola, Nepal, Republik Filipina, Republik Singapura, Timor Leste, Tonga, Thailand dan Vietnam yang mana seramai 54 anggota keseluruhan yang terdiri anggota – anggota tentera, polis dan agensi awam daripada negara-negara yang menyertai didalam Eks PJ22 kali ini. Hadir bagi mewakili Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (ABDB) ialah Leftenan Kolonel Haji Mohammad Alimin Bin Haji Subohi, Penolong Ketua Staf Gerakan Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (PKS G3 TDDB).
Matlamat Utama Eks PJ22 adalah untuk memudahkan kerjasama serantau dan menambah baik pemahaman peserta – peserta negara terlibat tentang pertimbangan perancangan strategik dan operasi semasa untuk penyertaan dalam operasi keamanan yang kompleks dan pelbagai dimensi. Tema untuk Eks PJ22 kali ini ialah: ‘Current peace operations must deal with dynamic human and environmental changes ranging from the Protection of Civilians to dealing with pandemics in vulnerable populations. How can peacekeepers adapt to these changes in order to achieve a successful mandate?’. Kali ini peserta – peserta didedahkan dengan pelbagai senario yang melibatkan peserta – peserta dalam membangunkan pemahaman yang lebih mendalam tentang misi Pertubuhan Bangsa-Bangsa Bersatu (PBB) dalam menangani pelbagai dimensi kontemporari dan kerjasama untuk mencapai keputusan yang optimum. Diantara pembentangan senario yang telah dilaksanakan adalah seperti berikut: Update UN Resolution and Mission Mandate, Women, Peace and Security, Conflict-Related Sexual Violence. Mercenaries and Proxies, Child Protection, Key Challenges Mali dan Current Issues – Future Challenges in Peace Operations Environment.
Selain itu, Eks PJ22 ini merupakan peluang yang baik bagi pihak ABDB dan negara – negara yang menyertai akan dapat mengadaptasi dan mengkoordinasikan operasi dalam mengaplikasikan United Nation Military Planning Process Manual (UN MPP) yang melibatkan Angkatan Tentera dan perwakilan UN yang baru diperkenalkan.
