COURTESY CALL IN CONJUNCTION WITH 30TH COOPERATION AFLOAT READINESS AND TRAINING 2024 (CARAT 30/2024)

BOLKIAH GARRISON, Monday, 18 November 2024 – Rear Admiral Katie F. Sheldon, Vice Commander of the US 7th Fleet, paid a courtesy call to Colonel (U) Hismawadi bin Haji Mohamad Said, the Acting Joint Force Commander, in conjunction with 30th Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training 2024 (CARAT 30/2024) at Bolkiah Garrison today.

The visit underscores the strong defence ties and collaboration between the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) and the United States Navy (USN). During the meeting, both leaders exchanged views on enhancing mutual cooperation and furthering their shared commitment to regional security and stability.

 Also present at the courtesy call were Commander Bert Bratton, US Defence Attaché to Brunei, as well as Staff Officer Training and Staff Officer Operation (Navy), Joint Force Headquarters.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training exercise series, which is a testament to the strength and longevity of the US-Brunei partnership. The courtesy call reflects the continued partnership and shared values between Brunei Darussalam and the United States in addressing both traditional and non-traditional security challenges.

CARAT Brunei serves as a symbol of the US commitment to key Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) partners to reinforce ASEAN Centrality, supporting a free and open Indo-Pacific. US 7th Fleet is the Navy's largest forward-deployed numbered fleet, and routinely interacts and operates with allies and partners in preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific region.

KUNJUNGAN HORMAT SEMPENA COOPERATION AFLOAT READINESS AND TRAINING YANG KE-30 BAGI TAHUN 2024 (CARAT 30/2024)​

BOLKIAH GARISON, Isnin, 18 November 2024Rear Admiral Katie F. Sheldon, Vice Commander of the US 7th Fleet, telah mengadakan kunjungan hormat kepada Kolonel (U) Hismawadi bin Haji Mohamad Said, Pemangku Pemerintah Angkatan Bersama, sempena Cooperation Afloat Readiness And Training yang ke-30 bagi tahun 2024 (CARAT 30/2024) di Bolkiah Garison hari ini.

 Kunjungan ini menekankan hubungan pertahanan yang kukuh dan kerjasama erat antara Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (ABDB) dan Tentera Laut Amerika Syarikat (USN). Dalam pertemuan tersebut, kedua-dua pemimpin berbincang tentang usaha memperkukuhkan kerjasama bersama serta komitmen terhadap keselamatan dan kestabilan serantau.

 Turut hadir semasa kunjungan hormat tersebut ialah Komander Bert Bratton, Penasihat Pertahanan AS ke Brunei, beserta Pegawai Turus Latihan dan Pegawai Turus Operasi (Laut), Markas Angkatan Bersama.

 Tahun ini menandakan 30 tahun siri latihan Kesediaan dan Latihan Kerjasama dilaksanakan, ianya merupakan bukti komitmen yang diberikan diantara AS-Brunei. Kunjungan hormat juga tersebut mencerminkan kerjasama dan perkongsian berterusan antara Negara Brunei Darussalam dan Amerika Syarikat dalam menangani cabaran keselamatan tradisional dan bukan tradisional.

CARAT Brunei adalah simbol komitmen AS kepada rakan kongsi utama Persatuan Negara-negara Asia Tenggara (ASEAN) untuk mengukuhkan Kepusatan ASEAN, menyokong Indo-Pasifik yang bebas dan terbuka. Armada Ke-7 AS ialah armada terbesar Tentera Laut, dan secara rutin berinteraksi serta beroperasi dengan sekutu dan rakan kongsi dalam memelihara wilayah Indo-Pasifik yang bebas dan terbuka.
