INTRODUCTORY CALL TO JOINT FORCE COMMANDER, JOINT FORCE HEADQUARTERS ROYAL BRUNEI ARMED FORCES FROM JOINT FORCE COMMANDER, JOINT FORCE HEADQUARTERS, MALAYSIAN ARMED FORCES

BOLKIAH GARRISON, WEDNESDAY, 04 AUGUST 2021 – The Joint Force Commander, Joint Force Headquarters Royal Brunei Armed Forces (JFHQ RBAF) Brigadier General Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Abdul Razak bin Haji Abd. Kadir, received an introductory call held virtually from Lieutenant General Dato' Haji Yazid bin Haji Arshad RMAF, Joint Force Commander of Joint Force Headquarters, Malaysian Armed Forces (JFHQ MAF) today.

Also in attendance were Colonel Kamarudzaman bin Mohd Thani, Defence Adviser of Malaysia to Brunei Darussalam as well as Chief of Staff Joint Force, Staff Officer 1 J2, Staff Officer 1 J5 and Staff Officer 1 J7 of the JFHQ RBAF. Also present virtually during the call was Lieutenant Colonel Abdul Rajid bin Haji Zainie, Brunei Darussalam's Defence Adviser to Malaysia

During the call, both sides reaffirmed their existing bilateral defence relationship particularly with RBAF's involvement in the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) peacekeeping operation under Malaysian Battallion, and the International Monitoring Team (IMT) in Mindanao, Philippines.  New opportunities were also discussed to further enhance cooperation between the two forces.

Lieutenant General Dato' Haji Yazid bin Haji Arshad RMAF was appointed as Joint Force Commander JFHQ MAF since February 2020.
