SECOND SQUADRON CHEMICAL BIOLOGICAL RADIOLOGICAL AND EXPLOSIVE, ENGINEER REGIMENT, ROYAL BRUNEI LAND FORCE PARTICIPATED AT THE REGIONAL WORKSHOP ON SAFETY AND NUCLEAR SECURITY CULTURE VALUES AND APPROACHES IN YOGYAKARTA, REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA

YOGYAKARTA, REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA, Friday, 03 October 2025 - An officer from the Second Squadron Chemical Biological Radiological and Explosive, Engineer Regiment, Royal Brunei Land Force (2Sqn CBRE ER RBLF) participated in a five-day workshop at the Regional Workshop on Safety and Nuclear Security Culture Values and Approaches, Yogyakarta, Republic of Indonesia. The workshop was held from 29 September 2025 to 03 October 2025 and was hosted by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia through the Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency (BAPETEN) and led by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Present during the workshop was Captain Pg Muhammad Masduqi bin Pg Haji Damit, Deputy Officer Commanding of 2Sqn CBRE ER RBLF. A total of 23 participants from 13 countries involved in the workshop led by Ms Bouchra Boustani, Co-Scientific Secretary at the Division of Nuclear Safety and Security, IAEA. Amongst participating countries were Bangladesh, Malaysia, Maldives, Nepal, Papua New Guinea, Sri Lanka, Tuvalu, Thailand, Timor Leste and Republic of Indonesia.

The objectives of the workshops were to increase understanding on the importance of the safety and nuclear security cultures under the guidance of IAEA, whilst to enhance their knowledge of the atomic energy concepts and its application in practice including self-assessment methodologies.


YOGYAKARTA, REPUBLIK INDONESIA, Jumaat, 03 Oktober 2025 - Seorang pegawai daripada Skuadron Kedua Kimia Biologi Radiologi dan Letupan, Rejimen Jurutera, Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei (2Skn KBRL RJ TDDB) telah menyertai Regional Workshop on Safety and Nuclear Security Culture Values and Approaches yang diadakan selama lima hari bermula pada 29 September 2025 hingga 03 October 2025 bertempat di Yogyakarta, Republik Indonesia. Bengkel tersebut telah dikendalikan oleh Kerajaan Republik melalui Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency (BAPETEN) dan dibantu oleh International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Hadir mengikuti bengkel tersebut ialah Kapten Pg Muhammad Masduqi bin Pg Haji Damit, Penolong Pegawai Memerintah 2Skn KBRL RJ TDDB. Seramai 23 peserta daripada 13 negara telah mengikuti bengkel tersebut yang dikendalikan oleh Ms Bouchra Boustani, Setiausaha Bersama Saintifik di Bahagian Keselamatan dan Keselamatan Nuklear, IAEA. Antara negara-negara yang mengambil bahagian termasuk Bangladesh, Malaysia, Maldives, Nepal, Papua New Guinea, Sri Lanka, Tuvalu, Thailand, Timor Leste dan Republik Indonesia.

Objektif bengkel adalah untuk meningkatkan pemahaman tentang kepentingan membudayakan keselamatan dan sekuriti nuklear di bawah bimbingan IAEA, sambil meperkukuhkan pengetahuan mereka mengenai konsep tenaga atom dan budaya menerapkannya termasuk metodologi penilaian sendiri.
