PENANJONG GARRISON, Friday, 12 June 2026 – The Training Institute Royal Brunei Armed Forces (TI RBAF) held the Closing Ceremony of the 10th English Language Course for Foreign Armed Forces 2026 held at the Halbi Lecture Theatre, Evolution Centre, TI RBAF.
Present as the Guest of Honour was Colonel Pengiran Noor Rumaizi bin Pengiran Othman, Joint Force Commander, RBAF. Also in attendance were RBAF Senior Officers, Defence Attachés accredited to Brunei Darussalam, and diplomatic representatives from the participating nations, namely the Kingdom of Cambodia, the Republic of Indonesia, the Lao People's Democratic Republic, the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, the Kingdom of Thailand, the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, and the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by a speech delivered by a representative of the course participants. The event continued with the presentation of certificates and souvenirs to participants from the seven participating nations, and congratulatory speech by the Guest of Honour. The ceremony concluded with a video and recitation of Doa Penutup.
In recognition of the participants' achievements, several awards were presented. The 'Best Overall Student' and 'Best Presenter Award' was awarded to Captain Nguyen Thai Binh from the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, the 'Best Academic Award' was presented to Captain Ornnicha Saleekongchai from the Kingdom of Thailand, and the 'Best Essay Award' was awarded to Second Lieutenant Vy Vai from the Kingdom of Cambodia.
The Joint Force Commander in his address congratulated all participants on their successful completion of the course. He also paid particular tribute to the historic inaugural participation of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, describing it as a significant milestone that further enhanced the regional character of the programme. He noted that the inclusion of Timor-Leste reflected the growing recognition of the course as a valuable platform for strengthening defence diplomacy, fostering professional military exchanges, and deepening cooperation and mutual understanding among the armed forces of the region.
He also highlighted the participants' rare and memorable experiences and opportunity during their time in Brunei Darussalam to witness the RBAF's 65th Anniversary celebration and the privilege of meeting His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah and members of the Royal Family.
The event further underscored the program's role as an educational platform for the development of the English language proficiency, promoting cultural exchange, and strengthening professional relationships among military personnel from the participating nations.
PEMERINTAH ANGKATAN BERSAMA ANGKATAN BERSENJATA DIRAJA BRUNEI MENGHADIRI MAJLIS PENUTUP KURSUS BAHASA INGGERIS KE-10 BAGI ANGKATAN TENTERA LUAR NEGARA TAHUN 2026
PENANJONG GARISON, Jumaat, 12 Jun 2026 – Institut Latihan Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (IL ABDB) telah mengadakan Majlis Penutup Kursus Bahasa Inggeris ke-10 bagi Angkatan Tentera Luar Negara Tahun 2026 yang berlangsung di Dewan Kuliah Halbi, Pusat Evolusi, IL ABDB.
Hadir selaku Tetamu Kehormat ialah Kolonel Pengiran Noor Rumaizi bin Pengiran Othman, Pemerintah Angkatan Bersama, ABDB. Turut hadir ialah Pegawai-Pegawai Kanan ABDB, Atase-atase Pertahanan ke Negara Brunei Darussalam, serta wakil-wakil diplomatik dari negara-negara terlibat, iaitu Kerajaan Kemboja, Republik Indonesia, Republik Demokratik Rakyat Lao, Republik Kesatuan Myanmar, Kerajaan Thailand, Republik Demokratik Timor-Leste dan Republik Sosialis Viet Nam.
Majlis dimulakan dengan bacaan Surah Al-Fatihah, diikuti dengan ucapan daripada wakil peserta kursus. Acara diteruskan dengan penyampaian sijil dan cenderamata kepada para peserta daripada tujuh negara yang mengambil bahagian dan diteruskan dengan ucapan penghargaan daripada Tetamu Kehormat. Majlis kemudian ditutup dengan tayangan video dan bacaan Doa Penutup.
Sebagai pengiktirafan terhadap pencapaian para peserta, beberapa anugerah khas turut disampaikan. Anugerah Pelajar Terbaik Keseluruhan dan Anugerah Pembentang Terbaik telah dianugerahkan kepada Kapten Nguyen Thai Binh dari Republik Sosialis Viet Nam, manakala Anugerah Akademik Terbaik dianugerahkan kepada Kapten Ornnicha Saleekongchai dari Kerajaan Thailand, dan Anugerah Esei Terbaik pula dianugerahkan kepada Leftenan Muda Vy Vai dari Kerajaan Kemboja.
Pemerintah Angkatan Bersama ABDB dalam ucapannya merakamkan ucapan tahniah kepada semua peserta atas kejayaan mereka menamatkan kursus tersebut. Pemerintah Angkatan Bersama ABDB juga turut memberikan penghargaan khusus kepada Republik Demokratik Timor-Leste atas penyertaan yang julung kalinya dalam kursus ini, yang disifatkannya sebagai satu pencapaian bersejarah dan mercu tanda penting dalam memperkukuhkan lagi kerjasama serantau program tersebut. Pemerintah Angkatan Bersama ABDB menegaskan bahawa penyertaan Timor-Leste mencerminkan pengiktirafan dan sebagai platform yang bernilai dalam memperkukuhkan diplomasi pertahanan, memupuk pertukaran ketenteraan secara profesional, serta mempererat kerjasama dan persefahaman antara angkatan tentera di rantau ini.
Pemerintah Angkatan Bersama ABDB juga menyentuh berkenaan dengan pengalaman berharga dan pengalaman istimewa yang diperoleh para peserta sepanjang berada di NBD apabila turut serta menyaksikan Sambutan Hari Ulang Tahun ABDB Ke-65 dan berkesempatan berjunjung ziarah Kehadapan Majlis Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Paduka Seri Baginda Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah dan Kerabat-Kerabat Diraja.
Majlis ini turut menonjolkan peranan program tersebut sebagai landasan pendidikan dalam meningkatkan penguasaan bahasa Inggeris, menggalakkan pertukaran budaya serta memperkukuhkan hubungan profesional dalam kalangan anggota tentera negara-negara peserta.
