JOINT FORCE HEADQUARTERS CELEBRATES 14TH ANNIVERSARY

BOLKIAH GARRISON, TUESDAY, 14 DECEMBER 2021 – The Joint Force Headquarters Royal Brunei Armed Forces (JFHQ RBAF) held its 14th Anniversary Celebration at the Joint Force Headquarters, Bolkiah Garrison today, in accordance to the guidelines from the Ministry of Health.

Present as the Guest of Honour was Brigadier General Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Abdul Razak bin Haji Abd. Kadir, Joint Force Commander (JFC). Also present were JFHQ Chief of Staff, Head of Joint Doctrine and Warfare Centre (JDWC), senior officers, officers and personnel of JFHQ.

The event commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa led by Captain Nasyrul Wafiy bin Haji Mahdini from the Directorate of Religious Royal Brunei Armed Forces followed by the Joint Force Commander's anniversary speech.

In his speech, The Joint Force Commander reiterated the pledge of undivided loyalty of all JFHQ's personnel to His Majesty The Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Negara Brunei Darussalam and ensuring that all should uphold the oath in ensuring the loyalty to His Majesty's Government, defend the teachings of Islam and maintaining the sovereignty of Brunei Darussalam. 

Brigadier General Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Abdul Razak bin Haji Abd. Kadir also expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation towards previous commanders and officers of JFHQ who have worked tirelessly and contributed into making it a relevant, credible and efficient unit. JFC also touched on the improvement and expansion of JFHQ since its establishment and is now moving forward with the consent of His Majesty Sultan and yang Di-Pertuan Negara Brunei Darussalam the establishment of the Cyber Defence Unit.

The collective effort of JFHQ and others involved in assisting the Ministry of Health and other government agencies in curbing the spread of Covid-19 through the establishment of the Covid-19 Task Group Support was also touched in his speech. With the setting up of the Covid-19 Task Group Force has proved that JFHQ is capable in providing support to other security agencies in maintaining border security especially during this challenging times.

JFC also expressed the importance of the Joint Force Headquarters commitment to strengthen Defence Diplomacy with the involvement in the International Monitoring Team (IMT), Independent Decommissioning Body Verification, Monitoring and Assistance Team (IDB VMAT) in Mindanao, Southern Philippines, The United Nation Interim Forces In Lebanon (UNIFIL) and also through various joint exercises in the past year.

In closing his remarks, JFC reminded that all personnel to uphold the RBAF Core Values by maintaining professionalism, to always be loyal, ensure bravery and instill piety to become more sensitive and responsive to any threats on the sovereignty.

The event then proceeded with a virtual group photo session followed by a cake-cutting ceremony to commemorate the 14th anniversary of JFHQ and concluded with closing doa.
